On December 9 local time, Pan Feng, Vice Chairman of CEATEC and President of ECECDC, led the Business Delegation to carry out a series of official engagements in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Former Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă accompanied the delegation throughout the visit, facilitating in-depth exchanges on strengthening China–Romania economic and trade cooperation in both commercial practice and institutional coordination.
In the morning, the delegation made its first stop at the Dragonul Roșu Commercial Center, one of the most influential trading hubs in Central and Eastern Europe, where they held discussions with its founder Nicolae Dumitru. Both sides conducted substantive exchanges on facilitating market access, expanding China–EU cross-border e-commerce cooperation, and responding to new EU tariff and regulatory standards. They reached multiple understandings on leveraging the center to help high-quality Chinese products better access Central and Eastern European and EU markets, while also promoting the export of Romanian specialty products to China.
In the afternoon, Pan Feng and the Delegation visited the Romania–China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where they held a working meeting with Chamber President Nicolae Vasilescu. As a major economic and trade organization with over 20 years of history and more than 600 Romanian member enterprises, the Chamber has long been committed to advancing China–Romania industrial cooperation. The two sides discussed raising the quality and efficiency of bilateral trade, with a focus on cooperation potential in green energy, intelligent connected vehicles, smart agriculture, and digital infrastructure. They also engaged in detailed consultations on building targeted matchmaking platforms for enterprises and sharing development opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative and China–CEEC cooperation framework.
These official activities constitute a concrete step toward strengthening the comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership between China and Romania. Bilateral trade has exceeded USD 10 billion for several consecutive years, reaching USD 13.45 billion in 2024, with fruitful cooperation in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and other fields. Through on-site inspections and high-level engagements, the delegation further consolidated the social and institutional foundations of China–Romania economic cooperation, providing solid support for enterprises of both countries to identify new growth drivers and jointly address market challenges.
